Thankfulness!

Saturday, July 12, 2008

Yesterday I was feeling a bit sad & homesick - missing my sis & the rest of the family up north (not to mention all my close friends from years of living in the same area). This morning I woke up & decided instead of being sad I would be thankful for the good points of living here, so I grabbed my camera & went to do the animal chores & ended up walking all over the farm photographing God's beautiful creation. When I came back I sure was feeling better!!

I am thankful for these beautiful blossoms on the gum tree near the house - they sure are pretty!

I am thankful for Buttons who continues to thrive! He is down to 3 feeds daily & is just so cute (he came on my walk with me - he thinks he's a dog & should follow me everywhere!)

I am thankful for my chickens who are still laying eggs even when it's cold! Chickens are my favourite animal and I think they just look so lovely free ranging around!

I am thankful for my followers - because both these animals were hand-fed, they follow me everywhere (if I'm in the paddock with Whitey) - when I turned around this is what I saw!!

I am thankful for water in the dams!

I am thankful for the gorgous bird song we hear!

I am thankful for my "home amongst the gum trees!"

I am thankful for God's gorgous creation!

"Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus."

I Thessalonians 5:18 (NIV)

I know what it feels like to be missing family Renata- mine too are all far away (parents are currently in Europe actually! I really missed Mum when William was unwell :(...
Yes, giving thanks for the little things surely helps. Our families and homes are such wonderful gifts from him- and his beautiful creation!! Your "home amongst the gum trees" is so lovely. Hope you're having a better day today! :)

I love Gum blossoms too!!! Before Dragon was born we called him Gumnut! Not so sure about the chickens though, a bit scared of them. Glad yours are still laying, that NEARLY makes me want to get some chooks, FREE EGGS!!! I'd be thankful for that!

Beautiful pictures. I often miss my old friends up north - not as far north as you've come from though! I lived there as long as I can remember before moving to Canberra.

Are there many farms near yours for your children (and yourself) to find friends?

Fantastic post!

The calf and sheep picture was my favorite...

Funny how they're just like human kids! If you feed them by hand, you turn around during the day and find all of your kids following you too!!

LOL!

Thanks for sharing the pictures.

And I'm humbled and so pleased that your family loved my chicken! Stay tuned for more recipes!

LOVE
Leanne
