School Lunch!

Tuesday, August 26, 2008

Saminda has asked us to post for a week what our kids take to school for lunch. It's a great way to get ideas!
Yesterday Zai took: a peanut butter sandwich (he's school isn't peanut free as there aren't any kids with peanut allergies); an apple; a lemon square (a kind of slice I made); rice crackers & cheese cut up to go on the crackers.
Today was the mini olympics (more in next post) & we had a picnic at school - we had triple choc bikkies (homemade); rice crackers & dip; apples & bananas; ham & cheese sandwiches (for the kids) & ham & potato salad for me! Delicious!!!

I have a recipe for lemon squares- wonder if its the same one.

Would you believe our pre-school and primary school have no restrictions on peanuts, but my eldest daughters high school has a policy that if you are found with any nut products in your lunch you are instantly suspended? Possum just loves peanut butter sandwiches and she can't have them! You would think a high school student would KNOW they are allergic by the time they are that age and stay away! (Gripe over.)
