Choosing

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart & lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, & He will direct your paths
Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)
Too often I've said " My life isn't turning out nicely/ happily/ well - it must be God's fault." But I just expect Him to pull me along through life like I pull a puppy on a leash where I want it to go. God isn't like that. He gives us free will. He will direct our paths, but we have to want Him to- like a puppy who is let off the leash, but choses to follow it's owners voice. It's our choice to go on God's path or our own, but we shouldn't blame him when we end up with a muzzle full of thorns when we've explored the wrong thing.

That verse is one of my favorites in Scripture.

I'm guilty too of blaming God for life's mishaps, and I usually realize that when things go wrong, it's because I made decisions without seeking His guidance first!

Ugh...such a good post.

too often I find myself not trusting in him the way I should be. I wish I had the trust and faith that my little girls do...they amaze me with their commitment to God.

Thanks for sharing such a powerful, eye opening verse for me this morning.

You're so right - blaming God when things don't go as we want is very foolish. It always makes me cringe when I hear people blame God or say that God mustn't love them much if things aren't going as they want them too. Our God is a mighty God, and if things aren't going as we want (and we haven't wandered off where we shouldn't have), we need to remember He is sovereign, in charge and knows what's best for each of us. Keep trusting and thanks for your inspiring comment!! Lots of love, Mum xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
