Auskick ends for 2008!

Monday, September 8, 2008

With the footy season winding down, Auskick also finished last week. Sadly for Zai - but none the less he has had a lot of fun. It's great to see how his skills have progressed - really from nothing, to being able to have quite good ball control - all in a few months! Friday afternoon has been fun for not only the boys but the parents & siblings also. Everyone with a son in Auskick (which is most boys from 5-10 years old in our small town) goes down to the footy grounds each friday arvo & the boys do their training & then play their game, the siblings play on the playground (& eat everyone's afternoon tea - in the case of the twins (yes I always bring them heaps of food, it just seems everyone else's is better))! And the parents 'network' (isn't that a great name for socializing!!LOL)
The boys were awarded with a medal at the end of their last game - Mr C. (the coach - who is one of the most patient people I've ever met) said he hasn't seen anyone so enthusiastic about the game as Zai is!!
Now Zai's counting down til swimclub starts up!!

Is Auskick like soccer? Sorry not trying to be a smarty pants I just honestly don't know. Very curious though. I love the activities you have the kids in. Too fun!

Sorry - I never really explained what it is - Auskick is the kids version of AFL or Australian football league - it is an aussie type of football ( oval ball etc) - but without the roughness of rugby league.

Well done to Zai!
So great to see a little boy so active and gaining skills like that. Makes me wonder what my guys will be into..... I've never played team sports so I'm not a great model for them. I do love to exercise though, just individually.
Saraya is hoping to start swimming in the summer too.
