FYI - timtams

Friday, September 5, 2008

I mentioned in an email to Heather that we were having timtams for afternoon tea & she asked me what they were. I was surprised - I didn't realise til then that timtams are actually Australian ( they must be one of our best food inventions - not something discusting like vegemite LOL!) They are in fact the most delicious chocolate biscuits - ever - a delightful treat - great for every I NEED CHOCOLATE NOW mood!!

There are lots of 'imitation timtams' out there - but I haven't found any quite as delicious - If you have please disclose!

And here is where you will find us every afternoon at 3:50 to 4:00 - having afternoon tea at the table - this is our routine before homework time (this day was a preschool day as well so two bags had been unpacked onto the table):

And if you're wondering where Zai was - well it was a library day, so he was totally engrossed: (Ahh the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, does it??)

PErsonsally, I love the dark choc ones- but that's just me. :0 I think Stuart likes the double coat. And maybe the caramel.

I love anything chocolate! So do you purchase them or make them yourself?

Found your blog through my IRL friend, Frizzy.

I have twins, too - fraternal (b/g). Your kids are darling! And I'm impressed that one loves rice! I don't think mine would even know HOW to eat it!

The binkies, the spring flowers, etc. etc. --- great blog!

YUMMY! The inside looks like a crispy wafery-type cookie, is that right?

My grandpa always ate these sandwich cookies that had two crispy wafers with chocolate, strawberry or vanilla creme in between. Kind of like inside out timtams? When I was a kid, we always had them for our snack when I stayed at his house. Whenever I see them at the store, I always think of him.

I always want to mention how much I like your bright, sunny dining area, with the big windows. It's so cheerful!

What good kids! What a fun way to get them to do their homework. Tea Time! Yeah. So good that he loves to read. Me too. Glad to see my friend Karin here. I love her and know you will too!

I'm afraid I have to disagree - the very best bikkies are Arnotts Mint Slice - now that's a bikkie to fill that 'I need chocolate' moment!!!! Tim Tams are toooooo sweet.....(I'll be homeless if I keep that up!) btw do you know what Aunty Sel just had for smoko - strawberries dipped in melted chocolate with lashings of whipped cream!!!!
Zai's library book looks like it has something to do with football!!! All are as gorgeous as usual. Looking forward to having arvo tea with you all soon!!! Lots of love
