The long awaited Sunnyside visitors!

Wednesday, September 24, 2008

Yesterday my mum & dad arrived for a visit. I have been looking forward to seeing them forever (well it feels that long anyway!!)
It is so nice to see dad looking so well. In May 07 Dad had a grade 5 sub arachnoid brain hemorrhage (basically the worst he could have had). He had 10% chance of living & 1% chance of not being severely handicapped. This is the first time I've seen him since he's been discharged from hospital & you have to agree he looks great!

Ellie & Eli wanted a walking stick "just like Grandad's"! (although it's hard to make them out in the photo - sorry!)
My youngest sister Nita also came. It's wonderful having her back here (I told her she's free to just move in - think mum had something to say on the subject (OK school is important - LOL)!)!

We went for a long walk all over the property, and with it being such a nice day, there were lots of photo opportunities!

Isn't she beautiful!!I had fun playing with my camera!!

We also checked out the crop. I was surprised to find some are in head already! After this the grain continues to form & (hopefully) plump out nicely! We are so thankful to God for the wonderful rain we had on Monday.

I've always wanted to roll in the crop - Ellie did it instead - looks like fun!

On the way back Mum grabbed the camera, thus you get this picture of me doing the tired twin mummy thing!! (Yes they are heavy - I can only carry them about 30m now without a rest - they weigh 16 kgs each!!)

This is our lamb Buttons - she sure has grown!

(she was stuck in another paddock, so I had to 'save' her - it's quicker if I just carry her!)

I'm having a great last day of being 28!

Come on 29!

It's lovely to see you all and be with you again....However, I wasn't impressed when you wouldn't give me your camera when you and Nity were crazily chasing a flock of sheep (pretending to be sheepdogs???????????? -you two, not the sheep!!!)...Will have to try and snap some more shots of the 'real Renata' - yes, the one and the same who carries a sheep around like a baby!!!! We praise God that we've finally been able to come and see your lovely new home, and especially all you lot!!!! Lots of love xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

What a lovely day, and lovely photos too!! Ellie is gorgeous. So is Buttons! :) I don't know how you carry those 2 little boys around at once- I guess you just do it, but I find 1 heavy enough! Happy happy birthday for tomorrow! How nice to have your parents there to share the celebrations with. :) (Hey, we're roughly the same age- I turn 29 next May!)
Have a great day,
Saminda.

A visit from mom and dad is so special! Your land looks so nice....and wow, I can hardly remember being 29! Happy Birthday!! I love the picture of you with the twins. Yesterday, I found myself with both little ones (28 months, and 10 months) in my arms because one got a bee sting....I couldn't do it for long, though! Thanks for sharing!

Lovely that you're getting to spend time with the family. You dad looks great for someone who has recovered from such a dangerous illness!

Hope you have a great birthday!

I still do the double carry thing occasionally - 13kg Kitcat on one side and 18kg Teddy on the other, so not quite as much weight as you had to carry, but lopsided. I can't carry them far either.
