What a weekend - where do I start?

This was my first ladies convention & I had such a great weekend, there's too much for one post but I'll try. Katoomba is located on the blue mountains west of Sydney. The house we stayed in was about 500m from the "three sisters" lookout.
The last time I was there, I was a little girl - I remember mum & dad taking pictures of myself, Sel & EJ (us three sisters) in front of the "three sisters".
The majestic size of the mountains turns your thoughts to God. It's amazing how he created such beauty. Of course we were there for the convention. The highlight of my weekend was definitely it (although the company was lots of fun as well!!) I think it was the best teaching I have ever heard. It wasn't a coincidence I was there - the teaching seemed to meet me right where I am in my walk with God. The teaching was from Colossians & the theme was "the complete woman". Over the next couple of weeks I'll go through my notes - there was so much to take in, it will take me this long to sift through it all. Lizzy Smallwood (the key speaker) focused on "We must become who we are" - We are God's children, with eternal life - our aim is to live a life that brings honour to the family name - "Christ"! Our purpose is to grow into our inheritance in Christ! She wasn't afraid to pack the punches - always with sound bible backup, yet added a lot of humour - all in a cute english accent!

The weekend wasn't just about the convention for me - it was also about getting to know new friends better. I found the ladies to be a fun group of lovely Christians who I have a lot in common with. (Although I may be the biggest bookworm of the bunch - I got through a whole book!!) We enjoyed eating out (OK every meal except breakfast), lots of talking, playing jokes, lots of laughing, lots of coffee drinking & even sliding down the staircase (I only did it due to the intense peer pressure - LOL - it really was fun (no the pic isn't me)!)
Of course without the hubby & kids we were able to sit down to afternoon tea & just chat.

This was the cutest little cafe - it's specialty was flowerpot scones - I had to take a picture - I've never seen scones cooked in flowerpots before!

Although I'm now exhausted, it was definitely worth going to this. I'm trying to encourage Dave to go to the men's one in Feb!

Unfortunately we drove home into a dust storm (with a tiny amount of rain - just enough to make the dust into mud on the washing that was out on the line!!)

Dave & the kids had a fun time - & it's nice to know upon seeing the state of the house that I'm not out of a job just yet!!LOL

Ah, it all sounds wonderful!!
So nice to see pics of the blue mountains - you took some beautiful ones! Stuart and I went there for our honeymoon, and I would love to go there again. 500m from the lookout- how perfect. :)

Yay you're back! I missed you.

What gorgeous photos (again!) The blue mountains are just amazing. God's creation is so awe-inspiring!

It sounds like you had a great time. I love the little flower-pot scones - CUTE! I also like what your speaker said about how "We must become who we are." I'm really focusing on praying for God's will for my life right now, so that I can become the person He wants me to be!

I'm excited to hear more about your conference. Have a great day!

I am so happy this conference was as you hoped it would be. I am also impressed with what a gorgeous setting it was in. How could you not feel like you were one walking with God? Gorgeous! I can't wait to read what scripture you reviewed and the lessons you gained from them.
