A birthday princess!!!

This past week has held a very special day for a certain daughter in our family - her 5th birthday!!!!!
We have a birthday tradition we must carry out each birthday - a birthday hunt! I can't even remember where this started from, but it is a must every birthday morning & since it's so important for Daddy to be there, he woke us all up at 6:15am so he could still arrive at work by 7am! (needless to say all pictures of pre-coffee Mummy have been deleted from the camera!!!LOL)

Our birthday hunt involves clues to the hiding place of each birthday surprise. The birthday child has so much fun finding each gift & then it must be unwrapped before the next clue is given! So far we've kept it to the family/dining/toy room, but I can see as the children get bigger it will have to eventually be farm wide!!

Ellie had a very busy day. She received lovely phone calls from far off relatives before school & then during school I bought paddy cakes in for her class & then when she arrived home from the bus a car pulled up & out came one of her favourite friends Em - with her sisters & a special birthday gift. So a quick afternoon tea with friends & then off to her ballet lesson (Where she received gifts from more friends!). Home again & a special birthday dinner of chicken nuggets & fried rice (unusual combination - I know- but this girl has unusual eating habits - she once told our pastors wife she is " allergic to chips" as she doesn't like them!). And then a special birthday cake!(And mums - this is one of the easiest cakes ever to make - just a circle cake & ice it & I bought the tea set from Kmart for $3 & the dolls are cabbage patch kids collectibles which were also only $3!!!) I also had some leftover paddy cakes for seats & I covered them in glad wrap so the dolls wouldn't get messy!!!)

Ellie also had a special treat as Nanny made the long trek down from Qld especially for Ellie's birthday & to spend a week!!

What a very happy birthday princess!!!!!

She looks so grown up and very very happy!!! btw your spell check mustn't be working - I'm sure the little cakes are called 'patty' cakes (lol yeah, I know it's sounds like it has a 'd')!!! Hope you're all having a great week! Lots of love, Mumxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Yes, saraya's most favourite present would definitely be her nanna coming to visit too!

Tell her Happy Birthday from us so far away....and my little girls are impressed with her cake! She looks so thrilled. And I like the present hiding tradition....sounds more fun than having them rip through them so quickly. But, one question: what are "paddycakes"?
