The muffins' birthdays...

Last week my babies officially became boys (well "big boys" to them!) - that's right they turned 3!!! I can't believe it's been that long since they were born - seems like yesterday - well actually in some ways - maybe they should be 10 ! LOL

The day began early (of course - who can keep an excited big brother from waking everyone) with our traditional "birthday hunt!"

I love Eli (wearing red)'s expression in the above pic - he had just opened up some flannelette sheets - when he looked at the picture of the bed (made with the sheets of course) on the pack, he said " I already got a bed"!

Their "big" presents were :
New Big Boy bikes.... they got on them & started riding straight away. I don't think they got off them til just before dinner (well maybe for food.... you know my children...). It certainly was a raceway up & down the hallway the whole day!

Zai was ever safety conscious (I did eventually remove the packaging !)!
(Don't you love the sunrise out the door!)

We had some wonderful friends over for dinner & of course birthday cakes!

Even though they are twins, I still like to do them different cakes - they are still complete individuals!

This year I decided to be a bit different - Jud had a boat cake - Zai & Ellie decided that the dinosaurs could take over the boat - which I really didn't mind as it was one of the worst cakes I've ever made (I think it was close behind the one for Dave's birthday the day we almost lost my sister - this time I didn't have any excuse).

Eli disappeared before cake time & when I went to investigate where he was he had put himself to bed. Poor little tyke was completely exhausted. Unfortunately we needed his boat ice-cream cake to complete the dessert, so I had to get him up - he finally seemed to wake up as he blew out the candles!

If you're wondering why boats...well I had made the ice cream cake, but then thought if I made anything too different they would both want the more interesting cake...as it was Eli was so sleepy it wouldn't have mattered.

Happy Birthday my precious boys..

Although you make life interesting

You also make it fun!

Happy Birthday to the big boys! The cakes both looked great in the photos. Now that they're 3 are you going to home pre-school them as well? Or do you think you will still send them to a regular pre-school once a week?

Oh how I miss those two boys and their birthday - and Narn, their cakes look appropriately yummy and there is absolutely no way the could be compared with that birthday cake which ISAIAH made for his daddy (please stick to the agreed story).

Anyway, miss yous heaps (should send you some pictures either tomorrow or Sat)

So glad that you all had a happy day. They're all so very precious. I think both the cakes look lovely - wish we'd been there!!!! Aunty Sel was happy to see them in their 'adventure' shirts - wonder what sort of adventures they'll get up to now that they're 'big boys'. Give them all lots of hugs & kisses. Love & miss you all. I LOVE YOUR CAKES rENATA! yOU DID SUCH A GREAT JOB! sERIOUSLY!

hAPPY bIRTHDAY SWEET bOYS! eNJOY 3, IT IS A wONDERFUL TIME OF lIFE!

Renata...(homeschool question you asked)...we homeschool usually from 8:30 to around 12....some days we go longer. It honestly depends. Two days ago we went (all of us) straight through until my Knight came home...as we wanted to get (more) done. Coming to the end of a homeschool year and the kids are motivated to finish all of their curriculums (books).

Hope this helps. You need to do reading, writing (spelling, grammer, language arts), and math daily...the other subjects can be once a week (science, art, history, geography). If you do a unit study...many of the subjects mesh together and only math requires an extra workbook.)

Hope that answers the question.
