Sunday Psalms!

Sunday, May 31, 2009

I've decided I really miss doing my Sunday Psalm posts that I used to do last year. I love reading the Psalms - it & Proverbs would have to be my favourite books of the Bible. I love the raw emotions that are displayed there!

How long, O Lord? Will you forget me forever?

How long will you hide your face from me?

How long must I wrestle with my thoughts

and every day have sorrow in my heart?

How long will my enemy triumph over me?

But I trust in your unfailing love;

my heart rejoices in your salvation.

I will sing to the Lord,

for He has been good to me.

Psalm 13:1-2 &5-6 (NIV)

I just love the contrast of David's emotions in this Psalm - even when we feel sad, depressed, isolated & abandoned by all (& everyone goes through times of these feelings), we can hold onto the hope of our salvation - this is the source of TRUE joy - be assured that the Lord Never Ever abandons His children!
