Young & sweet....

Hear the beat...

Last evening was Ellie's ballet school open class - the first chance we parents get to see what they do behind the curtain (although truthfully I have peeked before, although not for a whole classes worth as the boys & I usually just walk down the street to the library when ballet is on!)

Ellie did very well - I like ballet because already after only 6 months I feel it's helped her co-ordination - some of the exercises they do are quite tricky & the three 5-year-olds in the class had a little trouble with some of it, but they did really, really well!

Miss Tracey the teacher has endless patience (which is a good thing as my daughter kept stopping & posing each time she saw me with the camera - I had to take these pictures without her knowing - sorry about the quality we were seated at the far end of the room & I had to crop out the other girls where they were facing the camera).
Ellie loves her ballet class - it is one of her favourite parts of her week!!!

She is so proud of her curtsy - beautiful job my princess!!

Awww, very sweet :-). I love watching either my daughter's level class (5-6 year olds) & the tiny tots (3-5 year olds).

She looks like a real ballerina! I like that you managed to get her reflection in the polished wood floor in most of those photos.

She looks adorable! I am glad she is getting so much out of it and enjoying her dance classes.

I believe it about her coordination. When our oldest, Chimera, took up gymnastics at about 6 (I think), the added bonus was that she overcame her terrible fear of heights (like stairs, bridges, ramps - it was pretty full on). My OT friend thought it might have something to do with her body-awareness and increased confidence in what her body was capable of. The curtsy looked perfect, just like the ballerina.

Yaya wants to be a dancer too. Would be fun to have Ellie teach her a move or two. Wish I could have been there to throw her some flowers. ;)
