Today's Daybook!

For Today... Monday 30th November 2009!

Outside my window...

The sun is going down, dusk is falling & a light breeze is gently blowing the washing on the line. All is peaceful.

I am thinking...

About our 10th wedding anniversary which is coming up very quickly! I've booked to go to a bed & breakfast place & we're leaving the kids with a babysitter - one of the girls from church. This is the first time we've left the kids overnight for a very long time, so I'm a little nervous!

I am thankful...

For the rain that's fallen in the last few days!!!

On Thursday morning I was on my knees asking God for rain as Sunnyside had less than a quarter of a tank of water left on the whole farm....Thursday evening & night we got an inch of rain!!!! Isn't God amazing!

From the learning rooms...
Lots of hands-on learning today with Dad (while Mum ploughed the firebreaks - so glad that jobs done!!) Dave & the kids began to pull down some superfluous fences.

From the kitchen...
Very quiet today, but yesterday I tried a cinnamon teacake recipe which was delicious. Also triple chocolate biscuits & egg & bacon pie.

I am wearing...

My favourite pink & purple floral skirt - I always feel so feminine when I'm wearing a long skirt.
Also a purple top & very sun burnt arms as I forgot to put on sunscreen while out on the tractor. (oops...I kept having flashes of that skin cancer ad going through my head)

I am creating...
Just finished this:

I am going...
To my ladies bible study breakup tomorrow evening. We're doing our last study on Jeremiah - I've really enjoyed this study as it's quite a difficult book to read through by yourself, so having the questions has really helped to get me thinking about the circumstances around these prophesies.

I am reading..
Ephesians & Jeremiah from the Bible
"Simple Hospitality" by Jane Jarrell - a fantastic book that's easy to read & full of good ideas!

I am hoping...
To get to bed relatively early tonight... I've had too many late nights recently.

I am hearing...
The soft sound of the breeze

Around the house...
The kids are in bed, Dave is doing his exercises while watching Top Gear & of course I'm on the computer, although I had better feed the chickens, dog & cats soon before it gets too dark to see in the chook shed.

One of my favourite things..
.
Christmas.... I love the fact that it's coming up soon & this week we get to decorate the house!!!
I also enjoy Christmas carols & have had my Christmas Cd's playing regularly over the last month!

A few plans for the rest of the week...
Home school group at the city on Thursday - the last one for the year so I had shall have to try to be creative in the morning tea I bring. Dave has Friday off, so we might do something special!

Here is a picture thought I am showing...

Fun with my akubra in the wind earlier this afternoon as a storm was brewing!

I love the last pic. Hope you got your hat back.
Hooray for rain, hope you get some more.
I am a wee bit sunburnt too today. I did put on sunscreen but missed a few bits. Nathan said he was going to tell his teacher on me.
Thanks for the glimpse into your day.
