The Easter contrast

SADNESS:
The sadness, the pain, the sorrow at an unfair sentence....

The sting, the piercing, the whipping of innocent flesh....

The stumbling, the falling, the trembling of a broken body...

The pounding, the excruciating pain, the screaming as the nails were hammered in.....

The labouring breaths, the exhaustion, the humiliation as mankind taunted & walked on by....

The darkness, the sheer grief, the indescribable abandonment as His Father turned His face.....

The ripping, the trembling of the earth as He ascends into Glory....
....Peace.

Did the devil truly think he had won - was he so puffed up in his own power that he forgot how powerful the God of Heaven & Earth is?

HAPPINESS:

The happiness, the wonderment, the completeness of joining His Father....
The miraculous, the amazing, the astounding power of conquering death...

The shine, the light, the supernatural ... seeing the angel....

The running, the jumping, the praising of those rushing to the tomb....

The searching, the emptiness, the amazement of an empty tomb....

The excitement, the astonishment, the shock of seeing Him alive....

The praising, the thankfulness, the gratitude of we who know why He suffered..

"Where, O death, is your victory?
Where, O death, is your sting?"
The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.
But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 15:55-57 (NIV)

This Easter stop & spend some time thinking about what we are truly celebrating. Spend some time in quietness just marvelling at the amazing act of sacrifice.
A very blessed Easter to you & your family!

I always think it sounds so strange to say Happy Easter when you know all that Christ suffered through for us. Thank you for this reminder. I pray you and your family have a wonderful Easter together. Hugs from Cali!

Hi Narn, Thanks for this post on this the most holy and significant of Christian weekends. Your post brings to mind a prayer (which is actually the chorus of a hymn)

Amazing Love,
How can it be,
That Thou my God
Would die for me?

It also reminds me of 2 Corinthians 5:21
"He made Him Who knew no sin to be sin, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him"

Hallelujah!!!!!!!!!!!!
Happy Easter to all
8 sleeps to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love to all
