Happy Birthday Miss E!

Tuesday, March 22, 2011

Seven years ago our beautiful little girl was born.  My biggest baby weighing in at 8 lb 10 oz - which is a lot for a Mum who's first baby was 6 lb 14 oz.  I remember being so worried while I was pregnant that I wouldn't be able to love her as much as I loved Zai.  It was after her birth that I learnt the truth that love really does indeed multiply!  As soon as I saw her I fell in love - it wasn't hard - she looked exactly like my baby pictures!
Fast forward 7 years & we have the honor of celebrating her birthday once again.  She is growing up so very fast & it seems like those baby days are long gone.  What a beautiful girl she is -  such a shining light for the Lord.   Forever my strong willed child - she now is strong willed for the Lord & I pray she stays that way!  She prays daily for a little sister to be added to our family!  She is a leader amongst her brothers & friends.  She is such a delight to us, her parents!  We are so blessed to have Miss Ellie in our family!

Her birthday began early - too early.  It was only 1am when I woke to the sound of talking in Ellie's room. I went in to find her & Zai wide awake all excited about the day - I very nicely told them that it wasn't time to get up & to return to bed!  Then at 2am again I was woken up  by them - I once again oh so nicely told them it wasn't time & to get to bed!  It was 3am when I next heard them - this time Dave woke up & put them back to bed.  At a more reasonable hour of 7am, they finally awoke for our traditional  family birthday hunt!

For her birthday she requested a ballet ice cream cake!  Since the last ice cream cake I made was rather a flop ( the icing slid right off the ice cream) I went to the cake decorating shop to ask their advice.  I was able to use chocolate on top with an icing sugar/cream mixture to pipe around it!  It was probably one of the easiest cakes I've made!

She also chose friends to come for tea that night - her favorite meal was served - homemade lasagne!  We had so much fun celebrating this special time with her!

Unfortunately I had a doctors appointment on the day (I have had a nasty allergic reaction.  I'm going into the second week with it now. I've been quite unwell. ).  After waiting 1 1/2 hours at the doctors & then almost 1/2 hour at the chemist, she declared that it wasn't her favorite way to spend her birthday.  We had a chat about how things don't always go the way we want them too.  However after her party, she declared it a wonderful birthday!

What a beautiful girl Ellie is growing into - we are so proud of her!  She is such fantastic company & a delight to all!
Happy Birthday to our  Princess!
You are indeed a blessing from the Lord

Counting blessings today!

Happy (belated) birthday to her! Those bicycle-pictures are beautiful, in both the black and white and the color.

My baby girl turns 7 tomorrow (March 23rd) -- I'm sure our girls would enjoy each other's company...shall we just pop over to meet you?! :)

Happy Birthday Ellie! Renata, your blog is totally absorbing, as ever! I really should be in bed getting some rest to prepare myself for another day with 2 active boys tomorrow! Your photos are just beautiful. My favourites are E on the bike, the moth on the grass and the twins asleep cuddled up. So lovely. xxx

How lovely to see such gorgeous pictures of our little princess! The bike photos are lovely, but then little missy is very lovely (no, I'm not biased - much!)
So sad to hear that that rash is still bothering you. I do hope it improves very soon. Will try and call on Saturday, because it's probably too late now tonight, and I'm out all day tomorrow.
Please give our love to everybody there at Sunnyside. Love you all, Mum xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I think you ought to frame the black and white!! So vintage-looking, soooo beautiful!

Yes, we who live on farms do have to worry about predators, don't we? I'm so sorry about your ewes....but God was definitely there, as we know it could have been worse. God is good, in everything.

I'm so glad I found your blog. I treasure you as a friend, and I'm always talking about my friend in Australia to my kids!!

Take care and I do hope your allergic reaction goes away quickly.
