Home school happenings & other things..

Finally, finally our computer is back. It has a new motherboard, more ram & upgrades on numerous things... must be time for a workout..unfortunately I only have a few minutes this morning as we are busy, busy, busy with testing today! Life has continued plodding along & I thought I would share some pictures of a few things we did for school during the past few weeks:

I'll start with bookwork as we've done plenty of that. Fortunately their old school sent a whole lot of workbooks home so while we've been waiting for our distance-ed things, we've still been able to keep them up to date on what they should be doing (actually I think Ellie is now well & truely past half way through her maths book & Zai is flying through his grammar book.)

Don't you love Zai's expression here - he was using the lego as counting blocks, unfortunately his younger brother was stealing them to make "aeroplanes (what else in this household!!!??LOL).

For science we've been studying plants. On this day we did leaf printing....

One of the best things about homeschooling is that you can spend so much time outside - we have LOVED having lots of nature walks & we have trecked all over the farm - I think we all love being outside in this beautiful autumn weather we've been having.

We even took a picnic out one day & went all the way to the back paddock...here we are having a picnic at "picnic point" - the top of the hill which has views on 3 sides - just beautfiful!

On monday we recieved all of our tests & my supervisors course from ACE. The tests are to see their levels in different subjects. We did 2 yesterday & will do 2 today... Oh look at the time..I'd better go & get everything ready...bye for now!

Hi Narn,
Great to see the lovely ones again!!!! Hope the testing's going well for you all. Looks like everyone is having fun. Obviously it's autumn seeing the change in clothing - Zai in his Lion's shirt, and then everybody rugged up outside!! I hate to tell you, but we've had massive amounts of rain up here - Kinsellas Road was flooded earlier on the flat stretch near Anzac Ave, and Anzac was flooded up near the creek- even the Bruce Hwy's been cut!! Hope you get some real soon. All here are well. Praying that school keeps going well. Talk later. lots of love Mumxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

You sound like you are all enjoying homeschooling. IT looks like lots of fun (except the tests!) Nice to see some green in your paddocks! It's still very brown here.

Hello!!! So nice to have you back! I feel a certain special connection with you now that we are both new to this homeschooling journey! :) Sounds like all is going well for you which is great. Yes I agree, it's so nice to be spending more time together outside. I love your picnic point! Wish we had one of those on our little suburban block. :) Enjoy your sweet ones!!

Glad you're off to a good start! Your farm is so lovely. I'm always amazed at how different and beautiful the landscape is, compared to here, which is all fields of corn and rolling hills.

I love the photo of the three littlest following in a row, I guess that is what a mother duck sees when she looks back :)

It looks like so much fun with leaf printing, picnics, tests :) They are going to have a great time learning on a farm!
