My friend's mother is a wise woman.
No, I've never met her, never even spoken to her, but she shared this with her daughter who told me & well... it just makes good sense!!

Enjoy........your babies
Discipline......your toddlers
Teach......your children
and
Enjoy......your adult children
(& they of course sometimes come with the added bonus of thoroughly enjoying grandchildren :)!)

If each step is done at the correct time in their development then a beautiful relationship should be enjoyed between parent & child!

Hello,
I'm at the enjoying stage - hey, I actually enjoyed all stages!!! Was just showing our violinist (who played in rural NSW recently) your blogspot - he wanted to see my family!
Hope you're all having a lovely day,
Lots and lots of love, Mum xxxxxxxxx
so true Renata! I'm in the disciplining and teaching stage... Isn't it interesting too that if you neglect one stage the next doesn't follow so easily... just a thought!
LOVING the teaching stage...! And the disciplining stage is well...better some days than others ;) but getting there! love to you and all yours xo
I think that's wonderful advice :) I so enjoyed my babies, and soooo miss that stage. It's gone, though I look forward to the Grandma stage sometime ;)
I have teenagers and an 8 yr old. I love both stages - yes, I honestly do! - though, there's no doubt the teenager stage has new challenges. Listening... best advice I could get, methinks :)

Oh my! I am at the enjoying, disciplining, teaching and listening stage!!!! She is a wise woman indeed!
Yes, great words.
Great things to think on there. I have seen them change and requiring different ways of interacting with them, some times I'm a bit slow at keeping up :)
Love the new header and the gorgeous pic of Ellie.
I'm experiencing all the stages at once - which is just fantastic! I'm enjoying the toddler who is still my baby but also disciplining. I see so many parents who are wanting to opt out of that stage and not discipline or replace it with negotiation or 'gentle little talks'. Such sage advice, each flows onto the other - if you discipline the toddler, the child becomes teachable. It just pays dividends. One of my twins broke their arm a few weeks ago. She was so good at the hospital and not in the least bit stressed by such an unfamiliar place. I was so proud of her but very thankful that we follow these steps. Simple formula but it works!
great advice Renata! Definitely teaching (but also disciplining:) Noah and very much enjoying Byron!
Love to you!
Love Martine
Nice to "meet" you, Renata! I'm a first-time visitor (hopped on over from the Raising Homemakers link-up) to your blog and will most definitely be following! It's our dream to live in the country on a big farm -I'm sure you'll have lots of fun adventures to share.
We're in the baby/toddler stage right now and enjoying it immensely. :-)
We are at the listening and enjoying stages.
Definitely words of wisdom.
