This was our first year to harvest oranges here at Sunnyside.
When we purchased Sunnyside, we were so excited that it had established orange trees. We were quite disappointed in the fact that they weren't producing fruit though. Finally, after a good pruning & a thorough spraying with white oil last year & perfectly timed watering by God over summer we were blessed with a wonderful bounty this year!
Little hands reaching, feet standing on tip-toe trying to grasp each golden nugget of goodness. Laughter at finding the hidden fruit , the fun of standing on shoulders to reach the highest spheres ~ all this accompanied the final picking for 2011.
Baskets slowly filled, blessings received, thanks given!
Our reward...
A glass of freshly squeezed orange juice ~ delicious & sweet. Just brimming with so many vitamins you can taste them ~ such a wonderful treat!
Then God said "I give you every seed-bearing plant
on the face of the whole earth and every tree
that has fruit with seed in it.
They will be yours for food"
Genesis 1:29
Blessings my friends,

Those oranges look lovely! And fresh orange juice sounds SO nice! What a delight for you all, to have a harvest this year. God is good.
Your homestead sounds like a dream! We lived in FL for nearly a decade and had citrus trees. That's one of the things I miss most about that place. There was nothing quite like going out to the yard and picking fresh citrus to squeeze in to juice. Congratulations on a wonderful harvest. :0)
This is just fantastic renata!!!!
I'm so happy for you!!! What a wonderful, well earned reward for you and your family.
Those baskets full of oranges... heaven on earth!
Love visiting here and seeing what's happening on the other side of the earth! ;-)
Love carissa
Your own orange tree?? Bet that took alot of patience for the oranges to finally be ready ready to make into juice!!
Oh I LOVE fresh squeezed Orange Juice...Especially in Smoothies... :)
It looks as though your family is going to be quite Blessed in the Vitamin C category this year... :) Have a wonderful week!!
Hi, Renata!
It's so nice to "meet" you through Anne's blog. From the three corners of the world where she and you and I live, it's amazing how we can have so much in common. And best of all, the hope of eternity in heaven in which to meet face to face! (Although, should you ever find yourself in Virginia, please do stop by my home!) :)
Your oranges are lovely - what a gift to have such abundance! When my husband and I lived in southern California, we planted a dwarf orange tree in our tiny backyard just off our apartment. Long before the tree was mature enough to produce fruit, we moved; but every time we return to that area, we drive by and admire the lovely tree that it's become. I do hope someone is enjoying that fruit! :)
Yum! they look like terrific oranges. I bet you will enjoy eating them too.
Wow! I can't imagine growing oranges! How fun!
