Everyone needs a beach getaway - even country folk...
I remember taking off to the beach when we lived in the city - it was a place of peacefulness, restfulness & relaxation - of wide open spaces to marvel at.
But now we get that all here - the wide open spaces, the peace, the calm, the solitude - sure country life suits us just fine.
But I learnt something this last week: even we need a beach getaway - somewhere that you go & paddle in the water & let life slow down while you stop & enjoy the awesomeness of God's creation.
Making sand castles & exploring rock pools...
Running over hot sand down to the water line....
Tiptoeing into the shallows & slowly immersing yourself into the crystal coolness....
Listening to the whisper of the waves....
Leaving footprints in the sand....
Marveling at the farms reaching down to the ocean (a girl can dream can't she ;) ).....
Driving 5 hours isn't a chore when you have this to look forward to...
Sometimes the effort is worth it. Sometimes you have to get away & recharge.
Spending a week at the beach with our precious family & good friends is the perfect way to farewell our summer holidays!
Thank you Lord for this natural beauty all around us!
Blessings

Oh I agree that there's nothing quite like the beach. We have it on our doorstep but, sadly, we don't have the warmth. Oh, to have warm sand!! (I suppose we do *occasionally*, but it's tooooo occasional!
Glad to see you had a wonderful time x
I was originally born in Alaska...........I love the ocean. Isn't it so funny that you have sunshine and I have snow! Wish I could come and sit on the beach with you and your precious family! In my dreams...........for real some day though.......when we all get to HEAVEN......what a day that will be.
Yes is is so precious that we will be adopting our V. I pray for his safety all the time.

Hello my dear,
I just posted a very thoughtful comment on how refreshed I felt just looking at your beautiful beach holiday shots and when I tried to post it, came up not only with an error message (Not found) - but disappeared into cyberspace (well maybe you have gotten it - if so ignore this. Suffice to say - I love the photos - God's creation is amazing, amazing, amazing - made me realize how long it is since I've been to the beach (yes I know, it's less than a drive away)....you've inspired me to try and sneak up there for a day - meanwhile, when you find the farm that leads to the beach, just leave a tiny corner for a little retirement cottage (lol!)
Love you all heaps, Mum xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Ahhhhh I need something Just like that!

Oh Renata! Breathtaking sums those shots up perfectly! How beautiful- the color of that water puts the muddy dark Atlantic to shame!
A wonderful way to end the summer!!
How refreshing!!! Isn't it neat that I'm posting pictures of snow and your posting pictures of the warm sun and the beach?!?!?!

I completely understand Renata!! We got away down to the beach for 4 days at the end of January and it was just bliss!! Sitting, playing, building castles, swimming - I particularly miss the ocean after moving away from it! glad you had a lovely break. Look after yourself xoxo
